Cagetopia now offers 3-grid wide cages and bases
Wide-Span cages are three grids deep, creating a broader, more open layout than standard C&C designs—providing a C&C solution in one single piece of coroplast (coro) that you no longer have to cut and tape together.
At full width, a Wide-Span setup measures approximately 44" across (including grids). The exact Coro width is 41". Because of this, they are generally best used as floor-level cages, where access is safest and most practical.

With the added width, note that you cannot physically reach across the cage from one side. For cleaning and retrieving your guinea pigs, you will need access from multiple sides or a plan to step into the cage.
If stepping into the cage is part of your setup, keep in mind that coroplast (coro) will dent under foot pressure. So socks are better than shoes or sneakers. Footprints can leave shallow impressions that won’t harm the material but will create slight divots that affect cleaning a bit. It’s not the end of the world—just one of the trade-offs for the extra space.
Due to material constraints (original coro sheet size), Wide-Span bases use 3" walls instead of the standard 6". While fully functional, shorter walls can make edges more accessible to pigs that are inclined to chew. Also, the lower walls do not prevent as much kick-out or urine spray, so you may want to add backsplashes where needed in messier sections of the cage.
Wide-Span cages are designed for single-level use -- without lofts -- and thoughtful placement. They are also NOT condusive to adding a cover. There would be too much sagging in the middle.
What about 4 grids wide?
Not possible in a single piece of coro.
For that, you’re back to cutting and taping two bases together.
